The Role

The Director of Market Access is an integral role to the future of Sonablate Corp. Working within the Corporate Affairs department, the Director, Market Access will be solely responsible for the company’s reimbursement strategy: staying on top of CMS data, implementing new codes with our current and future facilities, and securing contracts with commercial insurers. To be successful in this role, you need an understanding of data analytics (particularly geometric means); to be detail-oriented, organized, and persistent; and to have a strong network in private pay networks. Experience with CMS and medical devices is preferred.


Develop and maintain deep commercial and government payer insights to represent the payer perspective internally

Help ensure existing opportunities and barriers as well as emerging trends are incorporated into the development of the commercialization strategies

Research, develop, and deliver reimbursement and market access strategies and programming to support Sonablate products and technologies

Build awareness and understanding throughout the organization through compliant and clear communications and gather cross-functional support

Support building the value proposition for payers and other key stakeholders and assist with data gathering that will ultimately be used to support value dossier submissions

Direct and manage pricing, reimbursement, and/or market access vendors to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget

Responsible for scheduling and preparing payer engagements, discussions and meetings for Sonablate participants

Responsible for developing reimbursement collateral and support materials for providers and patients

Collaborate with current and future customers to answer reimbursement and billing questions as needed

Assist in the planning and development of the reimbursement and patient services support function

Form strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional colleagues to prioritize and deliver on payer priorities

Continually monitor reimbursement data as it becomes available to identify trends in billing that could affect future reimbursement as well as the overall future of the company

Bachelor’s degree in Health Economics, Pharmacy Administration, Biostatistics, or Health Services Research or 5 years direct, relevant experience in medical device industry

3 years’ medical device market access experience; contracting and pricing experience preferred

3 years’ experience in medical device reimbursement or market access

Knowledge of pricing, market access, reimbursement, and HEOR

Proficiency in Office 365

Understanding of related medical device manufacturing regulations

Excellent organizational skills

Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations with minimal supervision

Ability to travel and meet vendor credentialing requirements of health care
